Why do the older boxes not have the new On Demand players?

We are constantly looking at ways to enhance our service, and the release of our new 4K TV boxes has enabled us to expand our OnDemand offering. Where we can, we will share these content updates across all our devices, but this is not always possible as the technical requirements of many new On Demand players exceeds the technical capabilities of our older generation boxes.

YouTube Kids and BritBox are currently only available on the new Freesat 4K TV Boxes. Find out more about our new 4K TV Boxes.

Similarly Rakuten is only available on Humax-manufactured Freetime with Freesat set-top boxes.
