What begins as damage control soon becomes something far more complicated. Joan Bennett plays the woman at the centre of it all, with James Mason as a mysterious stranger in this tense noir. 

Dune (2021)

In this adaptation of the legendary 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, a young man is thrust into a dangerous struggle over the desert planet Arrakis, where power, politics and survival are tightly bound together. As rival forces close in, he begins to understand that his future may be part of something much bigger. Timothée Chalamet leads an all star cast, along with Zendaya, Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson in this sci fi epic. 

1917 (2019)

Set during the First World War, this intense drama follows two young British soldiers ordered to cross enemy territory and deliver a message that could save hundreds of lives. The mission is simple on paper, but the journey is anything but. George MacKay and Dean Charles Chapman star in this historical and often emotional war film.

Inspired by a remarkable true story, this gentle drama follows an elderly war veteran who quietly leaves his care home to attend the D Day commemorations in France. Michael Caine plays the determined Bernard Jordan, with Glenda Jackson as his wife Rene.

Licence to Kill (1989)

This time, Bond makes it personal. After a brutal attack on his close friend, 007 goes rogue in pursuit of revenge, stepping outside official orders to track a ruthless drug lord. Timothy Dalton, the fourth actor to play 007, gives a darker take on Bond gives this entry a harder edge, with Carey Lowell and Robert Davi also starring. 

Stand By Me (1986)

Four friends set out on a journey to find a missing boy, but what begins as an adventure soon becomes something more meaningful. Along the way, they confront fear, friendship and the realities of growing up.
