Vera Brittain dreams of studying at Oxford, but the outbreak of the First World War changes the course of her life. Alicia Vikander plays Vera, with Kit Harington and Colin Morgan among the young men whose lives become entwined with hers during the conflict, in this heartwarming tale based on Brittain's celebrated memoir.

Months after her daughter's murder, Mildred Hayes decides that waiting for the police to solve the case of the killer is no longer good enough. She puts up three enormous billboards accusing the local police chief of failing to find the murderer, setting off a bitter confrontations with others in the town. Frances McDormand and Woody Harrelson lead a cast that also includes Sam Rockwell, who won an Oscar for his performance.
