Where to watch Shetland season 7 for free

The news we’ve all been waiting for is finally round the corner... Shetland is back! The British crime drama television series was originally based upon Ann Cleeve’s novels and was adapted for TV by David Kane. Shetland stars Douglas Henshall as Jimmy Perez, a detective inspector who was tasked with investigating the murder of Mima Wilson. Since then, the series has followed Perez and his team through a myriad of gruelling investigations and season 7 is promising us one last appearance from our beloved DI.

While this will be Henshall’s last series, the show must go on, and the BBC have confirmed there will be an eighth season of Shetland. Upon speaking about his departure, Henshall said “after series 5 of Shetland, David Kane and I decided we wanted to do two more series to complete the story of Jimmy Perez. So series 6 and 7 were commissioned together to give us time to wrap up Perez's story to a satisfactory end.” What are your theories for his ending?

As for Shetland season 7, fans were left on an epic cliff-hanger at the end of the 6th season when DI Jimmy Perez and Duncan Hunter (Mark Bonnar) were both framed for the murder of Donna Killick (Fiona Bell), season 4’s main villain.

What is Shetland season 7 going to be about?

While we don’t have all the details of the season 7 plot, we imagine the pair will have plenty of explaining to do to the authorities, and from the looks of the trailer, things seem to be picking up in the detective department... In the new series, they’ll be looking for a “vulnerable young man” who has mysteriously vanished from Shetland...
