Eurovision 2023: How to watch the Song Contest on TV

It’s the first time in decades that the UK is hosting the iconic song contest, and we can’t wait. Will multiple shows leading up to the final, and there’s a whole week of Eurovision telly to enjoy. Hosting on behalf of Ukraine, which is currently unable to host due to the ongoing conflict with Russia, the UK happily stepped in with the song contest being held in Liverpool.

Who is representing the UK in Eurovision 2023? 

The UK is bringing some serious talent to this year's event, and one artist to watch out for is Mae Muller. With her heart-melting song "I Wrote a Song", she's hoping to bring home the trophy and make her country proud. 

But the excitement doesn't stop there. Last year's runner-up, the incredible Sam Ryder, will also be making an appearance in the Grand Final. This time, he's not in the competition, but he's still ready to blow everyone away with his electrifying performance.

Get ready to experience the biggest and best Eurovision Song Contest yet! This year, the competition is coming to you live from Liverpool, where a star-studded lineup of hosts, including Graham Norton, Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham, and Julia Sanina, are ready to lead the charge. 

In the Grand Final on Saturday, the Big Five and last year's winner Ukraine will join the successful semi-finalists in a battle for Eurovision glory. And speaking of glory, the 2022 winners, Kalush Orchestra, will kick off the show with a sensational performance of "Voices of a New Generation".  

But the party doesn't stop there. Some of Eurovision's most beloved acts, including Netta (Israel), Mahmood (Italy), Daði Freyr (Iceland), Duncan Laurence (Netherlands), Cornelia Jakobs (Sweden), and Liverpool's very own Sonia, will be on hand to celebrate the city's rich contribution to pop music. 

With so much talent in one place, this year's Eurovision Song Contest promises to be an unmissable event. So, get ready to sing, dance, and cheer on your favourite performers as they compete for the ultimate prize!

Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Final 1

Eurovision 2023's first Semi-Final is airing on Tuesday, and the competition is already heating up. This year's event features an incredible lineup of performers, including the amazing Rita Ora, Ukrainian sensation Alyosha, and Liverpool's very own Rebecca Ferguson

The first Semi-Final is going to be intense, with talented acts from Azerbaijan, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden, and Switzerland all vying for a place in the Grand Final on Saturday. 

Scott Mills and Rylan will be bringing their signature wit and charm to both Semi-Finals, while Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham, and Julia Sanina will be keeping us all entertained as they host the show. 


Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Final 2  

BBC One + BBC iPlayer, Thursday 11th May at 8pm 

The second Semi-Final of Eurovision 2023 is set to take place on Thursday, with 16 incredible countries battling it out for a coveted spot in the Grand Final on Saturday. 

The show will also feature an amazing performance by Mariya Yaremchuk, who represented Ukraine in Eurovision 2014, leading a contemporary montage of some of the most well-known pieces of music. Plus, rapper OTOY and 14-year-old Ukrainian Junior Eurovision representative Zlata Dziunka will also be taking to the stage to deliver an unforgettable performance. 

The commentary for the night will be brought to you by none other than Graham Norton and Ukrainian Eurovision legend Timur Miroshnychenko, who will be checking in with the hosts to keep you up to date on all the action. 

It's going to be a fierce competition, with Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, San Marino, and Slovenia all vying for the top spot. So, tune in and get ready to cheer on your favorites!
