My signal is poor. What can I do?

If you're experiencing weak or no signal on your Freesat box, whether it's a Humax, Manhattan or another model, here are a few steps to help you troubleshoot:

1. Try a channel scan or first-time install

  • Go to Settings on your Freesat box and run a channel scan or first-time install.
  • This can help restore missing channels and refresh your signal connection.

2. Consider the weather

  • Heavy rain, strong winds or snow can temporarily affect your satellite signal.
  • If the weather is bad, it’s best to wait until it clears before continuing.

3. Check your cable connections

  • With your device safely powered off, make sure the satellite cables are securely connected to the back of your Freesat box or TV.
  • With your device safely powered off, gently tighten any loose connectors and check for visible damage.

3. Look for obstructions

  • Carry out a visual check from the ground to check for trees, scaffolding or nearby buildings that might be blocking the dish’s view of the sky. Even partial obstructions can weaken or block the signal.
