Audio Description is available on selected programmes including dramas, soaps, children’s shows and films to help visually impaired viewers follow what’s happening on screen. It provides spoken commentary that describes key visual elements, such as actions, facial expressions and scene changes.
Quick way to turn Audio Description on
Press the AD button on your Freesat remote.
You’ll find it in the bottom-right corner of the remote.
Turning Audio Description on through the settings menu
- Press the Home button on your remote.
- Go to Settings (look for the cog icon in the top right corner).
- Select Accessibility & Language, then press OK.
- Choose Audio Description, and select On or Off.
- Select Save and Close, then press OK to confirm.
