How Do I Access Subtitles on Freesat?

Many programmes on Freesat include subtitles, from soaps and dramas to children’s shows and films making it easier for viewers with hearing problems to follow along.

Quick way to turn subtitles on

Press the Sub button on your Freesat remote.

You’ll find it in the bottom-left corner of the remote.

Turning subtitles on through the settings menu

  1. Press the Home button on your remote.
  2. Go to Settings (look for the cog icon in the top right corner).
  3. Select Accessibility & Language, then press OK.
  4. Choose Subtitle Display, and select On or Off.
  5. Select Save and Close, then press OK to confirm.

Subtitles and audio description may not be available on every programme or channel. This is because their availability is determined by individual broadcasters, who decide which programmes include these accessibility features.
