Wideband LNB If you’ve switched from Sky Q then your dish is likely to have a wideband LNB and you will be able to record three different channels while you watch another, or record four different channels while you watch a recording you made earlier (or any programme On Demand). Single, Quad or Octo LNB If your dish is fitted with a Standard (Single, Quad or Octo) LNB and has two cables that connect to your Box, you will be able to record one channel while you watch another, or record two channels while you watch a recording you made earlier. If you have a Standard LNB with a single cable connected to your Box, then you can record (and watch) one channel at a time, or you can record one channel while you watch a recording you made earlier. Hybrid LNB Hybrid LNB’s work with our new 4K Box as well as older Freesat Boxes, letting you record up to four shows at the same time. How do I connect my box to the TV?

To connect your box to the TV, follow these simple steps:

Start by inserting the batteries into the remote control, as indicated by the markings within the battery compartment.

Next, connect the cables from your satellite dish into the back of your box (RF IN 1 or RF IN 2) by screwing them in. If your satellite dish cable only has one connector, it can be connected to either socket. Connect your box to your TV using the HDMI cable supplied.

If you are going to use an Ethernet cable (not supplied with your Box) to connect to the internet, then connect your cable now. If you are doing it wirelessly, you’ll be able to do it later during the start-up process so you can skip this step.

Connect the power supply unit into the POWER IN socket, plug it into the wall socket and switch on. Once done, power up your box by pressing the button on the top of the box or by pressing the power button on your remote control, turn on your TV and you’re ready to go!

How do I connect to wireless network?

If you didn't connect your Freesat Box to wireless network during the initial set up process, or you need to re-connect it to a new network, you can do it at any time by heading to the Settings Menu. On that menu you will see Internet Connection where you will see an option to set up a Wireless Connection. Once selected, your wireless network should appear on the screen. If it doesn't show then try rescanning. Once it has found your network, you’ll just need to enter your password and it should connect within a few moments.

I don't have a wireless internet connection, how can I watch On Demand?

You can still watch On Demand content if you have an Ethernet cable (not supplied) to connect your internet router directly to the box.

How do I set my box to turn off after a period of inactivity?

Accepted Answer

Our latest Set Top Boxes have an Auto Power Down function, which will power down your box automatically, to save on your electric usage. To do this, head to the Homepage and select Settings. From there, go to System Settings where you will see the option to Auto Power Down and set this accordingly.

How do I change my TV region?

Accepted Answer

Some BBC and ITV channels have regional variants. Your Box will automatically select the region matching your postcode during set up, but you can manually change your region in the Settings menu.

Within Settings, select Freesat Channels and then scroll down.

Choose Regional Channels and press OK.
Select Edit Regional Channel's to see a list of available regional channels and choose the region you want.

Please note that some regional channels cannot be changed manually. If you are receiving the wrong regional channels you should complete a channel scan re-entering your postcode.

What are parental controls?

Parental controls allow you to control the type of content children are allowed to watch – ensuring they can’t watch programmes or recordings that may not be age appropriate, for example.

If you try to watch a programme that was recorded post-watershed at a time that is pre-watershed then you will be asked to enter your PIN. Find out your default pin.

If you forget your pin then you will need to reset the box which will also reset your stored recordings. To avoid losing your recordings, we advise that you take care to choose a memorable number when changing or resetting your PIN.

To find the Sound settings of the box, press the Home button on your remote. This should bring up the Home screen where you will see a Settings option. When selected, you will be shown a set of options, one of which is Picture & Sound Settings. Within here, you can adjust your picture and sound settings to your preference.
