This week's top pick goes to...
Starring Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider and Robert Shaw, the classic story of the gigantic great white shark roaming the waters of Amity island is airing on ITV4 on the 26th May at 9pm. Jaws follows the story of police chief Martin Brody who wants to close the beach, but because doing so will negatively affect revenue, the Mayor rules against him and the beach stays open for the fourth of July weekend. Nobody in the water will be safe for long.
From the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Joss Whedon directs the 2005 film Serenity. In this follow-up to the space Western series Firefly, Captain Mal and his renegade crew try to protect a fugitive from a team of assassins. Catch the sci-fy film on Monday 25th May on the Horror Channel at 9pm.
3. The Reef
Suspense thriller The Reef brings us another terrorising shark film this week, and stars Zoe Naylor and Adrienne Pickering. All hell breaks loose when a great white shark hunts the crew of a capsized sailboat along the Great Barrier Reef this Wednesday 25th May at 9pm on the Horror Channel.
4. Let Me In
In this terrifying remake of Swedish horror Let The Right One In, Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass) portrays the suspicious girl next door. Lonely boy Oskar/Owen befriends the girl, but after a series of grisly murders, he learns she's been hiding something from him. Let Me In airs on Thursday 28th May on the Horror Channel at 10.45pm.
1. Kong: Skull Island
After the Vietnam war, a team of scientists explores an uncharted island in the Pacific, venturing into the domain of the mighty Kong, and must fight to escape a primal Eden. The remake stars Tom Hiddleston (Thor) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) and airs on Monday 25th May at 6.40pm on ITV2.
2. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Prior to the events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Frodo's uncle Bilbo, with the help of his friends, is forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness. The final installment of The Hobbit movie trilogy stars Martin Freeman (Sherlock), Ian McKellen (X-Men) and Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean) and airs on Friday 29th May on ITV at 11.10pm.
