ITV1 HD is available to viewers in England, Wales and those Scottish viewers in the Border TV region on channel 119. Scottish viewers of STV cannot currently receive ITV1 HD although we hope STV HD will launch later this year.Viewers in the Channel Islands can watch ITV1 HD by pressing the red button from ITV1 when prompted on-screen. Only certain programmes from ITV1 HD will be available in HD to viewers in the Channel Islands.
We've five free HD channels, access to BBC iPlayer and ITV Player and over 150 TV and radio channels to choose from. For the full list of channels, take a look here.
You don't need to do anything - as long as you switch your digital box or freesat TV off, overnight for example, it will automatically update itself and the new freesat channels and services will appear in your on-screen programme guide.
We're adding channels all the time. We launched with 80 channels and now we have over 150 and we're not stopping there. This year we've added two new HD channels and ITV Player, and there's more to come. The moment we can announce new channels we'll post it here and at www.twitter.com/freesat_TV
We're both free TV services, but freesat is different because we're broadcast via satellite. This gives us brilliant reception across the whole of the UK, and capacity for many more channels than Freeview.
We have over 150 channels, including many of the Freeview favourites, plus five HD channels. We also have brilliant catch up services such as BBC iPlayer and ITV Player.
Your freesat box or TV will automatically update when a new channel launches, but some products need to be in standby to pick up the update.
Simply put your box or TV into standby, wait for 30 seconds and then restart. The new channel should now be in the On Screen TV Guide.
A 'Freesat channel scan' will also pick up all available new channels. Instructions for this can be found in your product manual, or our Call Centre can help on 0845 313 0051.
